The Fertiliser Quality Council (FQC) and Marnco are pleased to jointly announce that Marnco has officially achieved Fertmark accreditation – a key milestone reflecting the company’s commitment to transparency, quality, and responsible nutrient management.
Fertmark accreditation provides independent assurance that fertiliser nutrients are true to label, ensuring accurate nutrient placement and delivering confidence to New Zealand farmers that they are getting exactly what they pay for.
“The accreditation process has taken us just over 12 months,” says Jamie Thompson, NZ Commercial Manager at Marnco. “We worked closely with the Fertiliser Quality Council throughout the process, undergoing rigorous product testing, supply chain reviews, and quality assurance audits to meet the Fertmark standard. It’s a testament to the strength and integrity of our systems and our team.”
FQC, New Zealand’s only independent authority overseeing the auditing of fertiliser nutrient products and their accurate placement on land, applauded Marnco’s commitment.
“Marnco has demonstrated a high level of professionalism and attention to detail throughout the accreditation journey,” says FQC Director Tyler Langford. “Achieving Fertmark accreditation is no small feat, and it reinforces our shared vision of supporting high-integrity nutrient management in New Zealand’s primary industries.”
Why This Matters
For farmers and consultants, Fertmark accreditation is a trusted symbol of product reliability and integrity. In a time of increasing focus on environmental sustainability and efficient input use, the Fertmark tick ensures confidence in the nutrient content and consistency of fertiliser products.
“Marnco’s accreditation supports our mission to be a reliable partner across the value chain—from product sourcing and formulation right through to paddock application,” adds Thompson. “It’s another important step forward in reinforcing our commitment to quality and integrity in everything we do.”

About the Fertiliser Quality Council
The Fertiliser Quality Council is the independent body responsible for the Fertmark and Spreadmark quality assurance programmes. It works across the fertiliser industry to promote high standards of product integrity and accurate nutrient application, supporting sustainable and effective land management practices across New Zealand.
Fertmark was devised in 1992 as a fertiliser quality assurance scheme after the government withdrew from fertiliser auditing. The scheme involves an independent audit whereby only quality products are approved and awarded with the Fertmark tick. There are currently 14 companies in the programme with over 69 registered products.
